The Phoebe Apperson Hearst Library is located at 315 West Main Street in downtown Lead between the Historic Homestake Opera House and the Black Hills Mining Museum. As the only library in Lead, it is the primary source for books and literature publications; periodicals; local, regional and worldwide history. Browse the complete floor of children's books and join us for many scheduled childrens events throughout the year.
The Hearst Library also has a collection of videos available to the public; along with free Internet and WIFI services. Everyone is invited to visit and use one of the many reading areas and to have a cup of coffee.
