Comprehensive Plan Recent Developments
Comprehensive Plan Base Principles-2012
The Lead Comprehensive Plan Commission will be working on several priorities for the next several months. These priorities have been identified from the 2004-2014 Comprehensive Plan and are associated with the entire community of Lead. In the document below, the first five priorities will be the focus. Each priority has a Status update and an Action plan.
Roles and Responsibilities of Staff 2-2012
This document summarizes the options that were developed by the Downtown Redevelopment Committee. This ad hoc committee was tasked with developing plans to improve/modify/change downtown Lead in conjunction with the South Dakota Department of Transportation’s Highway 85 construction slated for 2014-2015. Much of the document discusses aspects of downtown Lead that are outside of the DOT’s responsibilities, but can be interfaced with the highway project.
The Lead City Commission has been presented with the three options, as well as all of the other sitting city commissions–Planning and Zoning, Historic Preservation and Comprehensive Plan. Historic Preservation has recommend moving ahead and studying Option Two. The Comprehensive Plan Commission has recommended Option Three for further study.
Three Proposed Revitalization Options for Downtown Lead – Final
The document entitled “Lead Comprehensive Plan-2009 Update” is an update of the 2004-14 plan that was developed by the Lead Comprehensive Plan Commission. This document summarizes objectives into several categories: Completed, Short-term, Long-term and Non-priority. This is a good primer on the current status of the Lead Comprehensive Plan.
